Pipeline Rehabilitation Vehicle

Client Brief:
The client manufactures specialised vehicles fitted out with equipment for underground pipeline inspection and pipe re-lining.
The brief was to design and install a reliable power supply.
Challenges:
The inspection and re-lining equipment is highly specialised, robotic camera guided, requiring high quality and reliable 240v AC supply, in silence to allow communication between workers.
The energy supply system was required to provide enough power to complete the underground inspection tasks without the need for constant re-charging. It also needed to power the air-conditioning for the comfort of operators and maintaining the reliability of specialised electronic systems.
The area set aside for the energy system installation was small. Overkill’s early involvement in the design ensured all equipment could be accommodated and final vehicle GVM not exceeded.
